Black 'harbour' lines on canva

Today was my day in the week that I take care of my daughter while my girlfriend is working elsewhere ('Papadag' in Dutch). And, as my daughter hasn't reached the age where she doesn't need a nap in the afternoon, I have some 'spare time' on my hands.

Usually these two hours are used on administration, cleaning or other very useful, non-creative work. But today I picked on my blank canvasses and a Posca paint marker to make this piece.

Set and ready to go for the NOW Art Fair in Eindhoven

All set and ready to go to the NOW Art Fair in Eindhoven, The Netherlands! My first exhibition of hopefully many to come.

As always, I underestimated the amount of preparation needed. Packing the artworks, renting a van, printing price cards, business cards and a wooden flyer. I’ve been busy. But the cards and the flyer will be great supporting my story and help the Mr. Upside branding. I am proud, thankful and satisfied I’ve come this far!

Like to see the artworks in real life? Stop by at the Klokgebouw (http://www.klokgebouw.nl) in Eindhoven, this Saturday 18 and Sunday 19th of April, 12.00 - 17.30h. And if you want a free entrance, let me know. I still have some tickets left.

Review acrylic paint markers by Royal Talens Amsterdam - Intro Pack

My Intro Pack with four Royal Talens Amsterdam paint markers just came in. Tried a quick sketch but I’m not completely convinced Amsterdam is a serious competitor to Posca acryl paint markers. The tip seems dry and colors are not solid.

Does anyone has similar experiences with the new Amsterdam paint markers? I’d like to stick to one brand and I have been using Amsterdam regular acrylic paint for years. Posca does not sell regular paint, as far as I know.

What are your experiences with the Royal Talens acrylic paint markers?

Updated business information at the Dutch Chamber of Commerce

Finally updated my business information at the local Chamber of Commerce to better reflect my future activities. They respond with an old fashioned letter and instead of my requested ‘painting’ they strangely added 'Writing and other creating art’ and 'art galleries’ as my activities.

Bought two art books at Loods5

Went to Loods5 today, which is a huge interior products shop (like Ikea but much better) in Sliedrecht, The Netherlands.

Besides buying a nice design lamp there, I ended up with two art books by Taschen in my shopping cart. One about Keith Haring and one about pop-art artist Roy Lichtenstein. Hopefully I’ll find the time somewhere in the next few days to start reading them.
